Project Spotlight

Decatur Green, is a six-story, 18-unit building situated on a 4,577 square foot lot with a total floor area of 15,771 square feet, designed by Jack Coogan of Oaklander Coogan & Vitto Architects.  It consists of one studio, 11 one-bedroom and 5 two-bedroom apartments.  Decatur Green also includes a community room and an outdoor sitting area for tenants. This new construction provides a home for residents who earn up to 60% of the area’s median income.  The tenants pay no more than 30% of their gross income toward rent.


This building also features new green elements such as:

  • a 3,000 gallon rainwater harvesting and filtration system to service the toilets in each residential unit using a renewable source of water
  • a high efficiency elevator system
  • water delivery fixtures that can control the volume of water delivered to each unit
  • environmentally-friendly bamboo and linoleum flooring
  • low-VOC paints, primers, sealants and adhesives that contribute to healthier air-quality
  • low emissivity windows that have a greater capacity to insulate against heat and cold
